Last Month the Japanese try to retrive this mod a little bit more. They played in the at 2pm CET. At the moment the gametracker,com Server Monitorring is off. Hope soon they turn it on. The ranking seems to work.
Unless your blind or retarded you will have noticed that HL2 was released as planned today. I had great fun playing it today from 8am to 6pm non stop, and the effort thats gone into it certainly shows through.
So why am I posting this on the is82.com news ? Well because even before its launched, part of the is04 team has the job of looking at moving interstate to the HL2 engine.
While BF Vietnam engine is good, and will be the first platform for IS04 to be launched on, the HL2 engine far surpasses it. Combined with the huge fanbase and better hosting available means that any mod using the HL2 engine will greatly benifit.
Come on HL2 is an amazing game and source is an amazing engine. IS04 can move to whatever engine they feel is best. Personally i think it would awesome to play it on the HL2 engine. Besides even if you can't get HL2 (sucks for you!) you could still play it on Vietnam...
Sounds like a great idea to me. It will give us more fans and allow the mod to become more popular. Plus the game will be AWESOME with the HL2 engine. :-) __________________
anyway... you should really consider including me for one of the key mappers for is04.
my knowledge of the hl engine is probably more than you can expect.
one of my best work, which is still not finished, but i have a smaller map which has the same concept but different area.
ok, to explain what i just said, i have done the impossible with the hl engine. a working 3 story elevator, 4 elevators at the same time. it took some work, but i got it done.
to what you would consider the best mappers youve ever seen, they will tell you that is impossible. go ahead, ask some of the famous hl mappers, and they would tell you it either cant be done, or close to impossible.
the only downside for the hl2 engine, is the vehicles are not saved in pre-set models like the bf or bfv engines. you have to make every single piece. but there is an alternative.
you can save each model in indivdual map worlds, and copy them into the world you are creating.

ok, im fine if its moved to HL2, ONLY if they still move it the bfv as well. it would be better for every1, for then every1 would need to buy a lot of stuff __________________
It is good that you are thinking of expanding the Interstate community, but I would like it to stay were it is. IS04 will be coming out for BFV, we have the mod on BF1942, and BF2 comes out in less than 5 months. If it does move to HL2, I might just buy it to stay with the IS community. __________________
Everyone seems to be a little confused with whats going on here... Is04 is one large project which has seperate divisons for each engine or game the mod will be on.. It will be for hl2 and bfv.. neither one will be abandoned.. __________________
NOOOOOOOOOOOO, leave it on bfv, otherwise updates will only go towards HL2 and bfv will become obsolete. I dont wanna spent more money on HL2. Just keep it on BFV and stop the BS. __________________
No, thats what they have two teams.. One to work on the HL2 engine, and one for the BFV engine. Besides, its a very long process, its not like its just going to be moved to HL2 overnight.. it'll take several months, i'm sure, to start seeing progression, as its taken a really long time to incorporate IS into BFV, its not an easy thing to do. __________________
yeah Steam is good but it's bad at the same time... Good idea but not very reliable sometimes. For example the Friends network almost never works. I've been playing right next to my friend who I can see is in-game and it shows him as offline on my buddy list lol. Oh well the Half Life series still kicks ass! __________________

Here is my CV : I worked on the AMX Mod, and AMX Mod X development team. I am going to start work on SourceMod as soon as we get the SDK. I would very much like to also work on this project IS04 (HL2).
AMX Mod (X) : AMX Mod and AMX Mod X were for the original Half Life. They pluged into metamod and would allow for Admin fuctions and for for a fun type environment thought plugins for AMX(x). AMX Mod was ment for the guys who did not want to just do admin commands, but also wanted to change the way would play any mod for the Half Life engine. Therefore AMX Mod was made by OLO with much larger support for these fun modification over Admin Mod. AMX plugins are scripted in Small, precompiled have the extension .sma and after compilation are given the extension .amx (Abstract Machine eXecutive). Users with the understanding of Small can make there own plugins for AMX Mod (X). My role in AMX Mod was to help develop AMX Mod, and make the documentation, and so for AMX Mod, I was given the task to make the just the documentation as it is what I do best.
SourceMod : SourceMod is from the developers of AMX Mod X, this is for the Half Life 2 engine, and can be scripted in many languages (C / C++ / JavaScript / Small / Perl). No real developemet has happened as of yet due to the full SDK for Half Life 2 has not been released.
