Last Month the Japanese try to retrive this mod a little bit more. They played in the at 2pm CET. At the moment the gametracker, com Server Monitorring is off. Hope soon they turn it on. The ranking seems to work.
Sorry, you guys haven't heard anything about this map for a longass time. The main reason is that RuBBa and I have been working on other maps, which are also comming along nicely, but another reason is that we've been busy with school too.
You might remember the old akina mountain, in that other thread, it was daylight, there were no trees, and not many cars, at all. It started when we found the model on a page with gta maps, it looked really cool and rubba just came back from this arcade hall, so we started working on it. We had a lot of trouble getting it ingame, first rubba asked me to create a new empty map in battlecraft called Akina_Mountain, I had no idea what was going to happen. He couldn't export the whole mountain because his pc couldn't handle it, so I tried it, I got it in battlecraft, spawned a stratos, and YES! It worked. A few days after that, rubba converted more awesome cars, and darkened the textures, and added the trees, it started to look like a really cool driftmap. We tested it online with some admins, and it was lots of fun drifting, the cars also had music which I forgot to tell you. Not much later I started on a new map, so did RuBBa, and there was not much time left for Akina Mountain, slowly months passed by and I kinda forgot that there was still this map called Akina Mountain.
Then, some months later, dewalk28 released a new version of Akina Mountain, the track was A LOT longer, and RuBBa gave me the link, it looked AWESOME! He imported it into 3ds max, but it seemed to be really high-poly ( if I remember correctly, it was something like 70,000 polygons ) We kinda gave up on it, because we were sure it was going to lag.
Now, this week, that Akina Mountain thread was in the latest forum posts list again, and I was just browsing that gta page.. I went to the Akina Mountain download page, and I was like.. why not? I split up the mountain in 3 parts to avoid lag, exported it which took a longass time, and darkened all those textures which i'm not sure if I did that right, lol. I also converted an older Mazda RX-7 FC3S from rubba's other map, and put it in the map. Below are some screenies, stay tuned!
