Whatever you do, battery power is more important to performance. You'll only notice this really when you have a laptop with a long battery life and see how much work you can do between Hanover and Cologne or wherever you are going. It's great to be able to do stuff outside, and with global warming, this'll be something you'll want to do more and more. Also, when using public transportation for longer periods of time, which is a rather good idea given current gas prices all over the world, again you'll be happy that you can do stuff while on the move. It's even good that you can do stuff in your house without dragging a cable everywhere. So don't save on that part, it'll bite you in the ass.
