In racing there are 6 main flags the drivers have to worry about.

Checkered. If your the first to see it you pretty much won!
Yellow. If you see it you better slow down and look for hazards
Red. Come to a controlled stop, don't slam on your brakes and cause another pile up.
Green. After you have come to your stop green means go.
Black. You cheated and have been disqualified.
Blue. Watch out, someones about to lap you!
