After playing in the event today I was okay for about an hour then after a map switch, I started crashing over and over again. Even after map switch again I am still crashing this might be a game issue or OS issue or Video Card issue due to how new it is.
Specs: Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4771 CPU @ 3.50GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz Memory: 32768MB RAM GeForce GTX 1080 Dedicated Memory: 8110 MB Driver Version: 220.127.116.1165 OS Version: Windows 10 Pro
From what I understand this is the only interface that enables direct play which is a component of DirectX. I don't think this can be done by regedit. This ensures windows 10 runs direct x 9 games.
install this too [Clickity Click] This should be safe because its from Microsoft. It should be compatible with Windows 10 aswell.
You have to navigate to the programs and features page.
1.) Press Windows key + x on your keyboard, then press p it opens control panel. 2.) Click Programs 3.) Find Programs and Features link, select "Turn windows features on or off." 4.) Find the Legacy Components and select the plus arrow next to it. Fill in a check mark for both DirectPlay and Legacy Components. Click ok.
Maybe there's some game profile settings you can set in the nvidia control panel. Try limiting the game fps to 200 through nvidia. Also try opengl.
Next I would try to reinstall battlefield 1942, you don't have to reinstall the mods just make sure you uninstall battlefield 1942 and delete all the remnants of the game that you can find before installing again.
I would think the game would behave differently if you were to set the game in windowed mode. That way you can troubleshoot the problem further. mods/bf1942/settings/videodefault.con open this file with notepad make renderer.setFullScreen 0 then try to replicate the crashing.
