That would work well, but we still would need a top and a bottom, for a skybox is a 3d cube and not a 2d plain

How about something like this for the skybox? [Clickity Click] The trees at the bottom could be removed and altostratus clouds added at the bottom plane of the skybox
I could do that stuff for you if you wanted.
