ok i was bored... I decided to do something : put bf42 folder in bfv since they have same engine... IT WORKS Next step : having a map working in it (they don't show up)

 It does work, but without extensive rescripting etc, it just crashes on you.

 I got it to load, but loadcounter goes backwards and it crashes 2/3 of the way. lol

 They use the same game engine called REFRACTOR 2, BF2 uses the Battlefield 2 game engine and Battlefield 2142 uses a modified Battlefield 2 game engine :p
