 Yay Ubuntu!! Well I'm guessing steam has some trouble getting all the info it needs out of that OS. Also, is the RAM-size correct? 503MB also sounds a bit odd, unless you have some crappy shared graphics solution eating on your system RAM

 Well, 1970 is the standard that UNIX set, and Linux follows Unix. The one possibility I can imagine is that some function returned -1 to indicate that stuff failed, and whatever routine converted that to display time thought the very end of 1969 was meant instead (given that 0 is always the beginning of 1970 in Unixland, including your precious Mac!).

 You should find all you need in Synaptics. Search for ati in there.
