Last Month the Japanese try to retrive this mod a little bit more. They played in the at 2pm CET. At the moment the gametracker, com Server Monitorring is off. Hope soon they turn it on. The ranking seems to work.

Can I use the areas outside my square for things I want to test, like randomly placing objects that I want to try out?
No, wait, that's the wrong question. I'm going to do that anyway. My question is really: Should I make sure to clean all that away before sending you the map?

My tower doesn't go all the way to sea level, so you may want to avoid doing that to my square.

I had an idea to have statics outside of my square yet only appear when in my square like a half life 2 skybox I dunno how you all would feel about that I decided to scrap the idea however. Cochrane just make sure the position of objects are within ur square when you send it. You gotta go the mile to test out stuff so go ahead
I have planned everything out and I've been working on my custom models; it's getting there. I may need some help from someone Reegad? with importing because I no longer have 3DS Max.

how are y'all getting on?
Mark.. any luck yet?
I'm not keen on madkiller being on this project. He lost his rights to any normal treatment last week in chatbox.
First of all: thanks for asking! Well, I think I made a good start. Haven't done very much yet (very busy this week, got long days at work), but I am happy with my idea. Made a part of my race/challenge track already, plus I began making a city around it. I'm not gonna use custom objects, because I don't know how to make or use them yet. There will be some billboards with custom pictures, though. I spoke with GoodDay about that and I think he wants to help me with it.
Basically, there are some weird crazy things in my square, and I only learned how to really do modding pretty much two weeks ago, so I could really use some input about what works and what doesn't. The overall structure of the square is done, but there will still be many minor touches and minor custom objects. For that matter, the current custom objects are still subject to change, too, so please don't use them in your square (or if you do, make a copy under a different name).
All in all, this is a small, fast square, mostly focusing on landscape and a few odd gimmicks. In honor of http://is82.com/e107_plugins/greygallery/view.php?id=2996 (which just happens to be FOTD today. Great, otherwise I'd have had to look for this forever!), it is possible to finish the map entirely by walking. There are also quite a lot of ways to cheat, but I think I'll just call them "Legitimate alternate completion strategies" and be done with it, because I don't think adding lots of invisible walls would make the map more fun.
(Mandatory pessimistic note: If it happens that I loose interest and abandon this project, consider this my submission. I'm not planning to do this, but then, neither did anyone the first time this competition happened, and it still ended up that way, so better safe than sorry.)

I happen to know how to use the billboard system for uses other then as alternative LODs for vegetation. If you're looking to use the billboard system for things like arrow signs and the like I can probably code a simple tutorial on how to do it. It does require a host treeMesh for the billboard to work, since the billboard system relies on the bounds of the treeMesh to define the size of the billboard. I created a simple 1x1x1 cube and used that for an arrow indicator billboard in my BFH'42 mod, so I can lend you that for you to work with.
