yeah, i would have to agree with you on the more jumps, race stuff etc... when i imagine a map named streets, i dont think of just squares with road around it, i think of a Urban city or just something like this :

streetsrace is a battlemap. it has 3 flags and 2 uncapturable bases.. one flag is in a park.. one is under a bridge in a canal.. another is in the middle of a few buildings

Nope, I'm quite certain you're thinking of the wrong map. Your map is called just "Streets", and is indeed a battle map with two main bases, three points to capture and lots of subway entrances but no subway whatsoever. Streetsrace is the race version of the same map, where a race course is plotted through the map using lots of those red and white signs, and huge crowds everywhere.
I really like the original race because it is more real then any of the other races here

I think it needs to be longer, with shortcuts and random obstacles, maybe even traps you can set? like have rolling pipes or something that is activated when you capture a checkpoint or something, like the pursuit breakers in the NFS games

I think the problem with streets race is that it's a "racing map" not like most other maps which are hard to safly keep high speed and has many dificult obstcls. Streets Race is more of a neck to neck close racing map. A map like streets race would need a completly diff run set up to make it fun. More like Speed Canyon. Gated at the start with a certain death ending to keep dumping people into the starting grid with the flag greying back out after only seconds.
How about making an extrmly steep tunnel at the end of it witht the flag at the bottom where there is no getting back out to ruin others race. (must be certain death at bottom of pipe ) time the flag to grey back out just before the next gate drop of people get there so the slowest people of the last race don't get free points. (i can run and time myself on the map to find out a good grey back time) Make flag cap not end round. then all thoughs people will be dumped back into the starting gate for the next race.
I wish there was somthing we could do for the lap set races to count laps without someon just staying next to the flag and keep caping it. Idea: Is there a way...forinstance on camber sands to put a flag on one side of track and a flag at the other and make them so you have to cap them both to get points for the the flags? ok that was a lttile off topic sry nvm lol

yeah, cochrane is right, 1942's engine is not capable of a lap counter, but i remember testing a preliminary version of a track with checkpoints and lap counters (i think rich might have made it) for bf2
