I tried it out today, as i finally got the dongle. The first thing i noticed was the steering was lacking responsiveness, so i changed some settings, and it got better. Next, i noticed that you can't have a petal for forward and one for reverse, this means either you can have the car always going forward or backwards, whichever you like better (i chose foreward) and because the "s" key is the reverse and the brake, only one petal is used for forward brake and reverse, depending on how far you press it. I also set the flappy paddle shifters as the boost and thrust, upshift for boost down for thrust. Overall, all i can say is it was not made for interstate, but you can make it work. Im gonna have a good time trying to use this wheel with interstate.
a patch could be made to help out on a steering wheel.. things like the wheels auto-resetting can be turned off so this would be totally manual and tied to your wheel position. i think the same could be achieved with the throttle so you can hold the revs at any point (then use the brake pedal to brake and reverse..)
and i can already tun off the auto return in the wheel settings program that came with the wheel
Actually, he means the code settings for the cars themselves. The Steering object has the option to return to center when the buttons are released. This was originally intended for the keyboard keys, which lacked actual variability, and were only either 1 or 0.
