There is not nearly enough data about the PS3 to do a definite judement yet. Besides, what are the criteria? I, for example, don't care about the games that run on the two consoles because I'm not gonna buy either. If I did care, the fact that the PS3 can run more old games as well would certainly be an advantage.
The PS3's Cell processor is very interesting. Whether it's actually useful remains to be seen, but Sony's tactic of paying middleware developers like Ageia and Havoc looks interesting. I guess that is the only way they can make game developers use the seven (eight) additional vector cores, because using them directly in game code is likely to be a major problem when support for multiple platforms is required. Cell has it's weak points, too, for example memory access can be difficult at times. The XBox 360 is a much more conventional design, in comparison, and makes it easier for developers to use whatever they code on other important platforms, namely Windows, as well. Of course, it's not nearly as powerful.
As far as I know, it appears that Sony has the more interesting and powerful, but also more risky and uncommon design than Microsoft.
Of course, in terms of marketshare, this doesn't have to mean anything. The earlier launch for the X360 is certainly an advantage for Microsoft, with many highly profitable games (e.g. Oblivion, Tomb Raider Legend) that will probably not be available for PS3 and can therefore not help Sony increase that console's market share.
